BAGHDAD, July 18 (UPI) -- A bomb went off in Baghdad's Sadr City district Friday, injuring three civilians, a security official said.
The bomb was intended for U.S. Army soldiers who were on patrol close to automobile showrooms in Sadr City's Al-Habibia area, KUNA reported Friday.
A number of nearby cars were damaged in the explosion, the report said.
In a separate development, 20 Iraqis wounded in a car bomb blast the northern Iraqi town of Tel Afar Wednesday were taken to Turkey for medical attention, KUNA said.
The Turkish Chief of Staff dispatched two emergency vehicles to city of Mosul in northern Iraq to transport the injured people after Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan called for the action.
Officials said at least 13 people died and 30 were injured in the car bomb blast.
