NEW YORK, July 16 (UPI) -- A cruise ship on its way from Greenland to Venezuela was stuck in New York this week after it was found to be leaking, authorities said.

The Clipper Pacific docked in New York Monday night and was found to have 66 safety problems during a routine Coast Guard inspection, NY1 News reported Wednesday. The inspectors also found problems with life jackets, labeling of fire exits and damaged lifeboats, the station said.

The 38-year-old ship was expected to depart Thursday but will stop in Florida for additional repairs. It's approximately 1,200 passengers were mostly from Japan.
