CONVERSE, Texas, July 13 (UPI) -- Texas officials are working on building another criminal case against polygamous sect leader Warren Jeffs, officials say.

Authorities Saturday took a third genetic sample from a mother and her child who belong to the Fundamentalist Church of Latter Day Saints, The Salt Lake Tribune reported Sunday.

The Texas Attorney General's Office served a search warrant on Veda Keate, 19, in Converse, Texas, at the apartment where she is living with her 2-year-old daughter, sister and mother, her attorney said.

The attorney general's office is leading a criminal investigation into underage marriages involving FLDS sect members.

Investigators from Child Protective Services and the Texas Rangers raided the sect's ranch outside Eldorado, Texas, April 3, after receiving a call from a woman who claimed to be an abused 16-year-old.

The call was later traced to a Colorado Springs, Colo. woman with a history of making hoax abuse claims.

About 600 DNA samples from FLDS parents and children were collected after District Judge Barbara Walther said the tests were necessary to prove parentage.
