PRINCETON, N.J., July 13 (UPI) -- Likely Democratic U.S. presidential nominee Barack Obama continues to hold a lead over his presumptive Republican opponent, a Gallup Poll indicates.
U.S. Sen. Obama, D-Ill., led U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., 47 percent to 43 percent in a Gallup Poll daily tracking poll released Saturday. The pollsters, based in Princeton, N.J., said the result was based on answers from 2,641 registered voters between July 9-11 and had a 2 percent margin of error.
Obama's modest four-point lead is a continuation of nearly identical polling results conducted during the past two weeks, Gallup said, saying this may be because voters are not paying as close attention to the presidential race as they were earlier in the year during the primary election season.
