FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., July 11 (UPI) -- Police in North Carolina searched Friday for a missing U.S. Army nurse stationed at Fort Bragg and investigated a fire in her apartment.

Holley Wimunc, 24, a 2nd lieutenant, has been at Fort Bragg since August 2007. Her husband, John Wimunc, is a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Cpl. Wimunc was questioned Thursday, the Fayetteville Observer reported. He was released to his unit.

Lt. Wimunc was assigned to the maternity ward at the Womack Army Medical Center.

Fayetteville police said that the missing persons and arson investigation was being done jointly with Fort Bragg personnel.

Lt. Wimunc, a native of Lafayette, La., joined the Army Nurse Corps last year after graduating from St. Ambrose University in Iowa. Fort Bragg was her first assignment.
