Border officials find 3 bodies in desert

TUCSON, July 10 (UPI) -- U.S. Border Patrol authorities said they discovered the remains of three people in the desert of southern Arizona.

Officials Monday discovered a human skeleton close to the village of San Luis on the Tohono O'odham Nation, Border Patrol spokeswoman Dove Haber said.

In a separate discovery Sunday, a border official on the Tohono O'odham Nation near Stanfield, Ariz., came across second body, the Tuscon (Ariz.) Citizen reported.

Officials outside Elgin, Ariz., Sunday found four people crossing the border illegally, Haber said.

One of the crossers, a 25-year-old female, said her father died outside Elgin, Ariz., Haber said officials found the father's body Sunday evening.

Border agents discovered 109 bodies in the Tucson sector from Oct. 1, 2007, to June 30, the newspaper said.
