LONDON, July 8 (UPI) -- A man arrested in the torture slayings of two French college students in their London apartment is out of the hospital and being questioned, police said.
Scotland Yard officials said the 33-year-old man was taken to a hospital for treatment of burns after walking into a South London police station Monday, but now is back in police custody and undergoing interrogation, The Times Of London reported Tuesday.
The man surrendered in the June 29 slayings of students Gabriel Ferez and Laurent Bonomo, both 23, who been bound, gagged and stabbed hundreds of times before an inflammable liquid was splashed on and around their bodies and set ablaze.
Sources told the Times, however, police still believe another person was involved in the students' deaths. Scotland Yard has asked the public's help in finding a man seen fleeing the scene described as white, between 30 to 40 and slim, wearing a light-colored baseball cap, dark top, blue jeans and white sneakers.
