Plane with landing gear trouble lands safe

NORFOLK, Va., July 8 (UPI) -- A USAirways plane that reported problems with its landing gear touched ground safely at Norfolk International Airport in Virginia, officials said.

Wayne Shank, executive director of the airport, said the jet safely executed an emergency landing sometime after 6 a.m. Tuesday, The (Norfolk) Virginian-Pilot reported Tuesday.

The plane was carrying 21 passengers and three crew members.
