IBARAKI, Japan, July 5 (UPI) -- Japanese officials said a fairly strong earthquake hit the northeastern section of the country Saturday, measuring a magnitude of 5.1.

The epicenter of the quake was about 30 miles under the seabed off Ibaraki prefecture, Kyodo News reported. The Japan Meteorological Agency did not immediately issue a tsunami warning and said there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the quake, which struck at 4:49 p.m.
