BAGHDAD, July 3 (UPI) -- Raids by coalition forces in northwestern Iraq led to the deaths of two people and the detention of two others, the U.S. military said.

Troops killed a militant near Rabat, near the Iraq-Syria border, and another in Sharqat, south of Mosul, CNN reported Thursday.

Military officials said a raid in Mosul led to the capture of an "alleged terrorist leader" and an aide.

In southeastern Iraq, Iraqi security forces arrested several bodyguards assigned to a provincial governor following a raid on the governor's home.
