LOS ANGELES, July 3 (UPI) -- Police arrested a man at Los Angeles International Airport Wednesday after he said he was a terrorist and claimed he had a bomb, officers said.
Roads at the facility were immediately closed after the man -- who identity was not disclosed -- allegedly approached officers at the airport's Tom Bradley International Terminal, the Los Angeles Times reported. Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad personnel examined the black bag the man was carrying and determined all it contained was "junk," officials told the newspaper.
The incident resulted in some flight delays -- in some cases because passengers had difficulty reaching gates in time to board departing flights.
Kevin Andurs told the Times he missed his 12:30 p.m. flight to Toronto because of "mile-long lines" in airport corridors resulting from the bomb scare.
