Amtrak flood disruptions to end

CHICAGO, July 3 (UPI) -- Service on all Amtrak routes between Chicago and the West Coast is about to return to normal as the Midwestern floods recede, the agency announced Thursday.

Normal service is to resume on the California Zephyr Saturday. Service between Chicago and Denver was suspended June 13, with passengers traveling by chartered bus between the two cities and to and from Nebraska stops.

The national rail passenger agency resumed normal service Tuesday on two others routes, the Empire Builder from Chicago to Portland and Seattle, and the Southwest Chief to Los Angeles.
