Prince's ship finds cocaine on high seas

LONDON, July 2 (UPI) -- Britain's Ministry of Defense has revealed that Prince William took part in an $80 million drug bust in the Atlantic hundreds of miles northeast of Barbados.

The ministry says the heir to the British throne was serving aboard the HMS Iron Duke when the frigate stopped a speedboat carrying 45 bales of cocaine worth at least $80 million, The Times of London reported Wednesday.

The speedboat, which appeared to be headed for Europe or West Africa, aroused suspicion because it was unusual for such a small vessel to be so far out at sea.

The ministry says every member of the ship's company was involved in the operation which took place on Saturday.

Officers of the U.S. Coast Guard boarded the speedboat and found the cocaine.
