BAGHDAD, June 28 (UPI) -- Military raids of suspected al-Qaida sites in Iraq Saturday left three suspected insurgents dead, the U.S. military said.

Military officials said two men were killed near Mosul when troops raided a suspected bombing cell, while another suspected insurgent died during a similar raid in Kirkuk, CNN reported.

The raids by coalition troops also resulted in 12 people being detained, including a suspected insurgent accused of leading a so-called terrorist court.

The terror suspect marked the third time in recent weeks an individual allegedly linked to such terrorist activities has been captured, CNN said.
