KABUL, Afghanistan, June 25 (UPI) -- An Afghan official alleged Wednesday that Pakistani intelligence officials took part in a plan to assassinate President Hamid Karzai.
Afghan intelligence service spokesman Sayeed Ansari told reporters Afghan officials have proof Pakistan's intelligence agency, Inter-Services Intelligence, was part of the April 27 plot at a parade in Kabul, Afghanistan, The New York Times reported Wednesday.
"Based on the investigation of the case and documents we found, as well as confessions by suspects we arrested, they show that the real schemers and organizers of the terrorist attack is the intelligence organization of Pakistan, ISI, and its associates, which committed unforgivable crimes," he said.
The accusation came as hostility between Afghanistan and Pakistan was on the rise, the Times said.
Karzai last week said he would consider deploying troops to Pakistan to attack Islamic militants.
