PHOENIX, June 25 (UPI) -- Cindy McCain, wife of the likely GOP U.S. presidential nominee, is facing some pressure over a possible sale of Anheuser-Busch, politicians' comments suggest.

The chairwoman of Hensley Co., an Arizona distributor of Anheuser-Busch beverages, began receiving pressure after the Belgian brewer InBev said it would buy the St. Louis company for $65 per share, The Hill reported Wednesday.

Cindy McCain, the spouse of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., earned $50,000 to $100,000 from Anheuser-Busch stock last year, Senate financial disclosure records indicate.

Several Missouri politicians have said they are against the potential deal and want Anheuser-Busch to stay a U.S. company.

Rep. Todd Akin, R-Mo., said he would advise Cindy McCain to remember Anheuser-Busch's Missouri foundation if he comes into contact with her on the campaign trail.

"Its something she should give careful consideration to," he said.

Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-Mo., said he would advise shareholders and directors to seriously consider what could be sacrificed in regard to the company's future.
