YEREVAN, Armenia, June 22 (UPI) -- A moderate earthquake hit Armenia but did no damage Saturday.

The quake measured 5.0 on the Richter scale, Itar-Tass reported. That is big enough to do significant damage near the epicenter to badly constructed buildings.

But no injures were reported from Saturday's quake in northwestern Armenia, which struck at about 4:40 a.m. local time.

Area residents reported feeling the shaking.
