VANCOUVER, British Columbia, June 18 (UPI) -- A foot found Wednesday on a beach in British Columbia is the sixth such discovery in a year, officials in the Canadian province said.

The right foot inside a running shoe was discovered by a woman walking on Tyee Spit beach near Campbell River on the east coast of Vancouver Island, CBC News reported.

The woman contacted the manager of a local trailer park, Sandra Malone, who said she called police.

Malone said the foot was clearly visible inside the shoe.

"I got the chills right away; really grossed out," Malone was quoted as saying.

"It was definitely a foot in a shoe. You can see the bones sticking out the top part of the shoe a few inches. And it was clean cut, like straight across," she added.

Since last year, three men's right feet, a woman's right foot, and a left foot of an unspecified gender have all been found inside shoes near Vancouver.
