LONDON, June 17 (UPI) -- Two men were convicted Tuesday of gunning down a sleeping 15-year-old London boy because they thought he was his brother.
Jurors spent nine days in deliberations before finding Mohammed Sannoh, 19, and Abdi Omar Noor, 22, guilty of murder, The Times of London reported.
Michael Dosunmu, 15, was hit with four bullets from a Mac-10 as he slept under a quilt in the bedroom he and his brother shared. Hakeem Dosunmu, 26, was out at a club at the time.
Sannoh and Noor face life-in-prison sentences when they are sentenced Wednesday, The Telegraph reported.
Prosecutor Jonathan Laidlaw said that the killers were after Hakeem Dosunmu because a friend, involved with Hakeem Dosunmu and others in robberies, had been killed in a dispute over money.
Hakeem Dosunmu is serving a two-year prison term for robbery. His sentence was reduced after the judge heard he feels guilty about his brother's death.
His father, Raksan Dosunmu, a psychiatric nurse, said the family hasn't given up on Hakeem.
"He is our son, we love him," he told The Telegraph. "We cannot discard him. He made a mistake in life."
