Pentagon held in contempt in Gitmo case

BEIJING, June 14 (UPI) -- The Chinese government Saturday updated its May 12 earthquake casualty figures to 69,170 killed, 374,159 injured and 17,428 reported missing.
China's State Council Information Office also said hospitals had treated 95,654 people injured in the Sichuan quake as of Saturday afternoon, with 78,433 having been discharged and 14,617 still being treated, Xinhua reported.
In addition to the casualties, more than 1.41 million earthquake survivors had been accounted for.
China's state-run news agency also said the government's disaster relief fund had reached about $7.7 billion, and that relief supplies -- including about 1.24 million tents, 4.8 million quilts and 14 million garments -- had poured into the earthquake zone.
