NEW YORK, June 13 (UPI) -- A Harris poll indicates as far as politics go, more people than ever think the United States is on the wrong track.

The latest Harris survey gives President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney their worst ratings ever. But, the Democratic-controlled Congress fares even worse.

Bush's latest ratings were 24 percent positive and 75 percent negative. Previously, his lowest poll numbers were 26 percent positive and 72 percent negative in April.

Cheney's poll ratings were 18 percent positive and 74 percent negative, compared to his previous low of 21 percent positive, 74 percent negative last July.

Only 14 percent of the poll's respondents indicated they think the United States is going in the right direction and fully 80 percent thought otherwise.

As for Congress, national lawmakers had 13 percent approval, and a whopping 83 disapproval.

The Harris Poll was conducted by telephone within the United States between June 4 and 8, 2008 among a nationwide cross-section of 1,001 adults (aged 18 and over).
