Judge with porn site wants investigation

LOS ANGELES, June 12 (UPI) -- A federal judge in Los Angeles who admitted his personal Web site contained sexual images requested an investigation Thursday.

Alex Kozinski, the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals chief judge, said he would be cooperate with investigators looking into his conduct, the Los Angeles Times reported.

Kozinski Wednesday granted a 48-hour stay in the obscenity trial of an adult filmmaker after prosecutors requested time to explore "a potential conflict of interest concerning the court having a ... sexually explicit (Web site) with similar material."

Kozinski admitted he posted the graphic content, saying he didn't think the general public could access his since-blocked site, the Times said. As word about the sexually charged material spread, Kozinski said his son, Yale, uploaded most of the content.

"Yale called and said he's pretty sure he uploaded a bunch of it," Kozinski wrote in an e-mail to Abovethelaw.com, a legal news Web site. "I had no idea, but that sounds right because I sure don't remember putting some of that stuff there."

Kozinski said it was coincidence that he was presiding over the trial of filmmaker Ira Isaacs in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Isaacs is on trial for distributing videos of sexual fetishes, including acts of bestiality and defecation.
