LITTLE SIOUX, Iowa, June 12 (UPI) -- A 15-year-old Boy Scout who survived the tornado that hit an Iowa camp said Thursday that he saw Scouts aiding each other as soon as the storm passed.

Four Scouts died Wednesday night at the Little Sioux Scout Ranch, where buildings were leveled by the tornado. They have been identified as Josh Fennen, 13; Sam Thomsen, 13, and Ben Petrzilka, 14, all of Omaha, and Aaron Eilerts, 14, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, a Scout who worked at the camp.

Rob Logsdon of Lawton, Iowa, told The Des Moines Register that those who could move were doing their best to help others.

"Kids were giving each other first aid and when we looked around afterward all the trees in the area around the shelter had been ripped from their trunks," Logsdon said. "Kids were pulling bricks off each other. There was one camp member who was covered under a pile of bricks and wasn't moving. I assumed he had died."

Gov. Chet Culver told CNN there were "real heroes" at the camp.

Ben Karschner, another Scout, told KETV in Omaha that the tornado ripped through the camp in 8 seconds, which he called "the longest 8 seconds I've ever had."
