CASABLANCA, Morocco, June 11 (UPI) -- Two suspected members of al-Qaida linked to 2003 suicide bombings in Casablanca have been captured, Moroccan police said.
Moroccan police said they arrested Hammou Hassani, who was among nine Islamist inmates who escaped from Kenitra prison in April, Med Basin Newsline reported Wednesday. Hassani was sentenced to death for participating in the suicide bombings in Casablanca that killed 45 people.
Officials said Hassani and the second fugitive, Abdellah Boughmir, also convicted in the Casablanca bombings, were captured outside of Fez.
Police said three of the nine al-Qaida fugitives remain at large.
