OCEANSIDE, Calif., June 10 (UPI) -- A woman shot and wounded by an off-duty San Diego police officer, who also wounded her 8-year-old son, has been charged with felony child endangerment.

Rachel Silva also faces a number of misdemeanor charges including drunken driving and driving with a suspended license, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported. In court papers, the state attorney general said she would not be charged with assault with a deadly weapon for allegedly trying to drive her car into that driven by Officer Frank White.

White's actions in the March incident are still under investigation.

Investigators say that White was out with his wife when Silva allegedly rolled out of a gas station in front of his car. She allegedly then tailgated the officer and got in front of him, trying to block him.

Both White's wife and Silva called 911, with Silva reporting that a man had pulled a gun on her. White said that he identified himself as a police officer when he drew his weapon.

Silva's son was shot in the knee.
