ARVADA, Colo., June 7 (UPI) -- Two men accused of holding up a suburban Denver gas station while wearing women's thong underwear on their faces were in custody Saturday, police said.

Joseph Espinoza, 24, and Joaquin Rico, 19, turned themselves in after they learned police were looking for them in the May 16 "Thong Bandit" robbery of a combination gas station-convenience store in Arvada, Colo., the Rocky Mountain News reported.

Police told the newspaper Espinoza wore blue thong underwear over his face, while Rico sported green panties. But while the thong hid his facial features, Espinoza neglected to cover unique tattoos that were evident on surveillance camera videos.

The men, who were not armed, made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes in the robbery, police said, adding that they face charges of kidnapping and robbery.
