The bodies were discovered June 3 in Kamaliyah district near Sadr City, KUNA reported Friday.

Experts said they were trying to determine how the people died.

Steve Stover, a U.S. military spokesman, said officials found at least 10 and possibly as many as 12 corpses.

Military officials were led to the bodies by a civilian after the bodies had been in a well for at least two years, Stover said.
