WASHINGTON, June 4 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert focused on Iran during their meeting Wednesday in the Oval Office.

During a photo op before the meeting, the two reminisced about Bush's recent trip to Israel, and Olmert, who is the target of a corruption investigation back home, praised Bush for his commitment to Israel.

Bush said the two would discuss the Palestinian issue and recent moves by Syria to strike some sort of accord.

"And finally, we're going to spend a lot of time talking about Iran. Iran is an existential threat to peace, and very important for the world to take the Iranian threat seriously, which the United States does, as the prime minister will tell you. And we will continue our discussions about that subject, as well," Bush said.

Olmert described Iran as "the main threat to all of us."
