Five Israelis hurt in rocket attack

NEGEV, Israel, June 3 (UPI) -- A rocket attack on the western Negev region of Israel injured five people Tuesday.

The three Qassam rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip and struck the Eshkol Regional Council where two of the weapons caused injured, the Haaretz newspaper reported without citing sources. It said one victim suffered moderate wounds from shrapnel and the others were only slightly hurt in the incident.

Haaretz said the same area was struck hours earlier by a Katyusha rocket which fell onto an open field.
