Bettors like Hillary over Webb for VP

NEW YORK, June 3 (UPI) -- Hillary Clinton is the "chalk" -- the favorite -- to receive the Democratic vice presidential nomination, according to an online betting service.

Intrade Tuesday was calling Clinton the leader, at least in the minds of online bettors, to be Barack Obama's running mate on what would be the much-discussed Democratic "dream ticket."

The newspaper said the action on Intrade pegged Clinton with a 21 percent chance of running with Obama compared to Sen. James Webb, D-Va., at 19.7 percent and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson at 6.2 percent.

On the Republican side, former presidential contender Mitt Romney leads with 19.2 percent followed by Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty at 15.6 percent and Mike Huckabee at 14.1 percent.

The Post noted that a larger percentage of the Intrade players were betting that "none of the above" in both parties would be chosen.
