BADGHIS, Afghanistan, June 2 (UPI) -- Military officials said Monday NATO air raids over western Afghanistan, conducted in the wake of an attack on a police post, have killed 10 insurgents.

A spokesman for Afghani police forces, however, told CNN that the death toll was 46 Taliban fighters, with an additional 30 wounded.

The network reported that NATO warplanes pounded targets Sunday and Monday after some 200 Taliban militants were involved in an attack on a police post in Badghis province that killed at least one officer.
