WASHINGTON, May 30 (UPI) -- A YouTube video challenging John McCain's reputation for straight talk is a problem for the U.S. presidential hopeful, a GOP pollster said.
The video, with more than 1.5 million views, shows the Arizona senator arguing both sides of President George W. Bush's tax cuts, jumbling the facts about which terrorists are being trained in Iran and denying he conceded he needs to learn more about economics, the Los Angeles Times reported Friday.
The video is titled "John McCain's YouTube Problem Just Became a Nightmare."
By comparison, the newspaper said, videos posted on YouTube of Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama are generally flattering to the Illinois senator. The videos uploaded to the video sharing site frequently show Obama delivering eloquent speeches.
Veteran GOP pollster Frank Luntz said the difference between the McCain and Obama videos on YouTube shows the Republicans face a generation gap.
"And that gap is morphing into a chasm," said Luntz.
