Boy, 5, killed by teen driver

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 29 (UPI) -- Police in St. Petersburg, Fla., said a 5-year-old boy was killed when he was pinned by a car driven by a 14-year-old girl.

Authorities said the girl was driving her mother's Volkswagen Cabrio around the parking lot of her apartment complex when she stuck a wall, WKMG-TV, Orlando, Fla., reported Thursday.

The girl, who police said was listening to loud music, backed the car away from the wall a struck the boy, who was sitting on a planter, in the torso, investigators said.

The boy, who was pinned against the wall, was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Police said no charges have yet been filed in the case.
