SALT LAKE CITY, May 28 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush, for the second time in two days, stumped for Arizona Republican John McCain Wednesday, this time in Utah.
Serving as host or co-host for the fundraisers Bush was scheduled to attend was former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, a one-time candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. McCain is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
Romney and Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman Jr. hosted a $500-per-person afternoon fundraising event and a $10,000-per-person pre-fundraiser reception at the home of investment fund manager Sam Stewart, the Salt Lake Tribune reported
During the evening event at Romney's home in Deer Valley, supporters ponied up $30,800 per person or $70,100 per couple to the McCain campaign and the Republican Party, the Salt Lake Tribune reported Wednesday. About 200 supporters were expected to attend.
"We're on track for another set of good fundraising events and we're confident we'll have the resources to compete and win in November," McCain campaign spokesman Jeff Sadosky said.
