Fluid leak diverts LaGuardia flight to JFK

NEW YORK, May 27 (UPI) -- Delta Airlines says it is looking further into a hydraulic leak that caused the diversion of New York-bound Flight 1846 out of Orlando, Fla., Monday.

The MD-88 landed at Kennedy Airport rather than LaGuardia as a precaution since JFK has a longer runway, Newsday reported Tuesday.

The airliner, with 144 people aboard, experienced a leak of some sort late Monday that could have affected the jetliner's landing gear and wing flaps.

Delta said it was investigating the exact location of the leak and was trying to determine the cause.
