VIENNA, May 22 (UPI) -- The Austrian woman held by her father as a sex slave in an underground dungeon for 24 years plans to sue him for damages, her lawyers said Thursday.

Elisabeth Fritzl, 42, gave birth to seven children during the ordeal, six of whom survived. What legal action she will take against Josef Fritzl, 73, will be determined in the next few weeks, her attorney Christoph Herbs said.

Meanwhile, doctors caring for the family have announced their condition is improving and members are discussing what comes next in their new life, the Telegraph reported.

Elisabeth, five of her children and her mother, Rosemarie Frizl, 68, who said she was unaware of the family in the cellar, have taken part in therapy sessions.

The oldest child, Kerstin, 19, also was reported improving. She is in a different hospital, suffering from an unknown illness and in an induced coma, doctors said.
