BEIJING, May 20 (UPI) -- Forestry crews in China looked for two giant pandas that disappeared after an earthquake devastated Sichuan Province, an official said Tuesday.

Xiang Beirong of the Sichuan forestry agency said the China Wolong Giant Panda Protection and Research Center was conducting the search, the official Xinhua news agency reported.

"Both pandas are adults and they are more capable to escape from dangers than younger ones," Xiang said.

Two other pandas were injured when their living quarters collapsed in the earthquake last week.
