Child dies of self-inflicted gunshot

PHOENIX, May 20 (UPI) -- A 3-year-old boy died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound Monday in Arizona, police said.

The child was fatally wounded while at a North Phoenix home he was visiting, police told WPNX-TV in Phoenix. It had not been determined how the boy got the gun or if anyone would be charged in the incident, which police labeled an accidental shooting, the TV station said.

Emergency crews were called to the home Monday afternoon and the child died later at a hospital.
