OSTERFARNEBO, Sweden, May 19 (UPI) -- Several people leaving a feminist festival in a Swedish town were beaten with metal pipes by a gang of suspected neo-Nazis, police said.
A group of at least seven 17 to 25-year-olds were in Osterfarnebo, Sweden, after leaving a feminist event at Farnebo Community College Sunday when the gang attacked them, the Swedish News Agency TT reported.
"After shouting 'sieg heil' and doing the Nazi salute the men then proceeded to assault the teenagers who had exited the college" investigator Kalju Poltrago said.
"They assaulted the teenagers with metal pipes. One girl was beaten bloody and another 30-year-old man was battered while he lay on the ground."
It is reported the battered man was taken to the hospital for help.
The incident has been classified as grievous bodily harm of a racist nature, authorities said.
