NEW YORK, May 12 (UPI) -- An ambitious 25-year-old artist announced he is attempting to sketch every person in New York before he dies.

Michigan native, Jason Polan, 25, said the mass-sketch idea came from his passion to give the 8 million people in New York individuality, The New York Post reported Monday.

"I might never finish, but that's OK. I'm coming from the Midwest. It's different living here. I'm trying to make (New York) more palatable, more welcoming," he said.

Polan told the Post he spends most of his time in restaurants and subways speedily drawing the people around him.

"I try not to be aggressive. I've been drawing most people without them noticing," he said.

The couple of hundred drawings Polan has finished can he seen on his blog at everypersoninnewyork.blogspot.com.
