BAGHDAD, May 8 (UPI) -- A former leader in the al-Qaida in Iraq faction who now works for a U.S.-backed security group was wounded in a suicide bombing Thursday.
Sheik Nadhem al-Jabouri, head of the Awakening Council, was injured when a suicide bomber attacked a convoy in the Salaheddin province town of Dhuluiya in northern Iraq, CNN reported.
Also hurt were Dhuluiya Police Chief Mohammed Khalid and three others.
