DOUGLASVILLLE, Ga., May 7 (UPI) -- A woman who had a child by and married a teenage friend of her son gave up her effort to get custody of their baby Tuesday, at least temporarily.
Lawyers told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that Lisa Clark Gonzalez, 39, and her husband, Adrian Gonzalez, 17, had settled the custody dispute without a hearing. Details were not available, and the lawyers said many of them were still being negotiated, but Angela Perkins, a former friend of Lisa Gonzalez, will continue to care for Skye Cobain Gonzalez.
"They did not get custody, but they are pleased with today's developments," said Jan Young, a spokeswoman for Lisa Gonzalez.
Lisa Gonzalez served a short prison term for statutory rape and for helping Adrian escape from a half-way house.
