LYON, France, May 6 (UPI) -- The public's help is needed to identify a man shown sexually abusing children in a number of photos posted on the Internet, Interpol officials in France said.

The man is in about 100 images of an 800-image series police say they think was taken in Southeast Asia and showed at least three boys being sexually abused, Interpol said on its Web site.

"The law enforcement community around the world has done all it can to find this man who clearly presents a danger to young children, and we are now asking the public to help identify this predator and protect other potential victims from abuse," Interpol Secretary-General Ronald Noble said.

The pictures were discovered by police in Norway in March 2006 on a convicted pedophile's computer, police said. The children are believed to be 6-10 years old.

After receiving the pictures, Interpol's child exploitation unit in Lyon, France, circulated the images throughout Interpol's network, trying to identify the man. While the images were retrieved two years ago, officials said they think the photos were taken April 2000 and May 2001.
