PRAGUE, Czech Republic, May 2 (UPI) -- Nearly all Czech poll respondents said they believe members of the lower house of the Czech Republic legislature are corrupt, poll results indicated.

The poll, conducted in March by the CVVM polling institute, also indicated that those asked said that citizens have much less influence over politicians than lobbyists, CTK reported Friday.

"As far as corruption behavior is concerned, two-fifths of Czechs (41 percent) share the view that most Czech public representatives are corrupt," CVVM said.

The poll also probed public representatives about their political cultures.

Local elected leaders received the highest approval in this part of the poll as 57 percent of people said their political cultures are good. Ninety-one percent of respondents, however, said Chamber of Deputies members have bad political cultures.

The Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia was given the highest rating with 30 percent of favorable appraisal while representatives of the Civic Democratic Party got the lowest, at 18 percent.

Poll information such as size of the respondent pool, how the poll was conducted and margin is error was unavailable.
