DEKALB, Ill., April 30 (UPI) -- Authorities at Northern Illinois University have decided not to demolish the lecture hall where five students were shot to death on Feb. 14.

Instead of tearing down Cole Hall, Northern Illinois University President John Peters says the administration has been soliciting suggestions on what to do with the building, the Chicago Tribune reported Wednesday.

Students, faculty and staff have been asked to provide feedback on three possible renovation plans for Cole Hall.

The deadline for submitting ideas is noon Thursday, says WREX-TV in Rockford, Ill.

So far, officials have received more than 130 responses.

Peters will make the final decision, the station says.
