Author sees links in missing wife cases

JOLIET, Ill., April 30 (UPI) -- The author of a new book about murdered wives says she sees similarities between victims in her book and missing Illinois women Stacy Peterson and Lisa Stebic.

But journalist Marilee Strong, author of "Erased: Missing Women, Murdered Wives," says she isn't certain that the husbands of Peterson and Stebic resemble the men in her book, The Joliet (Ill.) Herald News reported Wednesday.

"I can't say Drew Peterson or Craig Stebic absolutely fit this profile," says Strong. "But if Drew Peterson is responsible for not only Stacy's disappearance but also Kathleen Savio's death, it looks like he could have done both."

Strong began her book after covering the trial of Scott Peterson, the California man convicted of killing his pregnant wife, Laci in 2004.

Her books details the case of a Schaumburg, Ill., woman, Peggy Dianovsky, who went missing in 1982.

Her estranged husband reported seeing her leave with a packed bag but she didn't take her car or pick up her last paycheck.
