CASABLANCA, Morocco, April 29 (UPI) -- Fires raged through the Moroccan city of Casablanca, killing at least 60 people in various industrial blazes, officials say.
Officials in the city said they plan to investigate conditions in the industrial sector to determine the cause of the blazes that roared through the city for the past three days, Med Basin Newsline said Tuesday.
Firefighters extinguished a blaze early Monday that killed three people in a carpet factor and at least 55 people died in a fire in a mattress factory Saturday.
Investigators said the workers were locked in the mattress factory as the building burned. The owners have been arrested.
