DEKALB, Ga., April 28 (UPI) -- A carnival worker was reported in serious condition Monday after falling 40 feet from a ride at a shopping center near Atlanta.

The DeKalb Fire Dept. said the unidentified employee of Gold Medal Shows was attempting to secure a door on one of the passenger compartments on the Roll-o-Plane when the ride unexpectedly began to move and lifted him into the air.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said the ride was immediately stopped, leaving two passengers stuck in the air for about 20 minutes while the victim was treated and then rushed to the hospital.
