WASHINGTON, April 28 (UPI) -- U.S. President Bush and Guatemalan President Alvaro Colom Caballeros discussed a wide variety of issues Monday, especially trade and drug trafficking.

In remarks following the Oval Office meeting, Bush praised the Central American Free Trade Agreement, saying it has been good for exports in both directions.

"And by the way, we talked about blueberries ... so that blueberries are able to come off-season here to the United States, which is a positive development for Guatemalan farmers," Bush said.

Other topics on the agenda included national security, drug trafficking and immigration.

Through a translator, Colom said his country is fighting hard to prevent drug traffickers from gaining a foothold.

"We are doing everything necessary to eliminate drug trafficking and drug traffickers from our territory," he said.
