BAGHDAD, April 26 (UPI) -- U.S. forces have killed a leading al-Qaida commander and three of his lieutenants in an airstrike, an Iraqi police official said Saturday.

KUNA, the Kuwait news agency, reported U.S. forces targeted the car in which Mohammad Muzahem al-Harbouni was riding with a missile, east of Samara.

The news agency also reported an Iraqi policeman was killed and two others were kidnapped in separate incidents Friday.

The policeman was killed by insurgents in the northern Iraq city of Mosul, while the two policemen were kidnapped in the Sumer district, in southern Iraq.

Authorities are searching for the policemen, KUNA reported.
